Combines Advantages of PFC and Synchronous Rectification
MPS has built a Totem Pole PFC controller and an Evaluation Board to demonstrate its effectiveness.

Demonstrates Effectiveness
AC/DC power supplies above 70W, EV wall boxes, ON-Board Chargers, UPS and solar energy storage stations normally require PFC (Power Factor Correction). The rectification of the mains is always cumbersome. The higher the power, the higher the losses in the mains rectifier. As such, synchronous mains rectification is very desirable.
The Totem Pole PFC is not only very cost effective, it also provides a high power factor and energy efficiency.
