Qualcomm's New IoT Module Solutions Based on QCC730 and QCC74x
New Modules in Two Configurations
Qualcomm has expanded its portfolio with new IoT modules based on the QCC730 and QCC74x Wi-Fi solutions. These modules are available in two configurations: with an integrated PCB antenna or with an RF antenna connector. Additionally, the QCC730 module family offers two extra variants featuring an on-module Power Amplifier (PA) for enhanced performance capabilities.

The QCC730 family supports Wi-Fi4 and is built on a Cortex-M4 processor architecture. This solution achieves up to 88% power savings compared to earlier in-house IoT products which significantly extends battery life, a critical benefit for applications like wireless cameras, video doorbells, door locks, sensors, smart building systems, and smart tags, where energy efficiency is increasingly crucial.
Wi-Fi6 by QCC74x Family
The QCC74x family, on the other hand, is based on a RISC-V architecture and supports Wi-Fi6, Bluetooth 5.3, and IEEE 802.15.4 (Zigbee, Thread) into a single solution. With built-in multimedia capabilities and a wide range of digital and analogue interfaces, this family is ideally suited for applications requiring high multi-function integration at competitive costs. Target applications include smart appliances, industrial IoT solutions, smart home devices, medical equipment, and IoT hubs or gateways. A particularly notable feature is the pre-certification of these modules for multiple countries. Initially, certifications such as CE, FCC, IC CA, and SRRC will be available, with many more planned for the future.
