This module builds upon IOT747’s previous generation module the IDC747 by offering the very latest features of the Bluetooth Low Energy specification version 5.3 as well as fully lossless wireless audio via the aptX lossless codec.

Auracast is one of the latest innovations in the Bluetooth standard that allows a single IDC777 module broadcast a Bluetooth Low Energy based Audio Stream to an unlimited number of Bluetooth Low Energy receivers. This new use case is expected to unleash a wave of new Bluetooth audio use cases in public spaces, cinemas, museums, airports, restaurants where multi-language audio announcements, information and entertainment will be available to users leveraging off the shelf Bluetooth Low Energy audio compatible hearing aids, earbuds, headsets and even speakers. IDC777 is one of the first solutions in the market to incorporate Auracast support both as a transmitter and receiver.

In addition to Bluetooth broadcast the IDC777 integrates aptX lossless, the latest version of QUALCOMM’s awarding winning codec which was developed to deliver CD quality audio over Bluetooth. aptX lossless can deliver up to 16bit, 44.1kHz to enable users to enjoy their high-quality lossless content wirelessly. The aptX codec incorporates adaptive bit rate and error correction techniques to ensure the highest audio fidelity over the wireless connection regardless of the environment. aptX Lossless is compatible with a wide range of devices, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, headphones, and speakers. In addition to aptX Lossless the module also provides aptX, ACC and SBC codec support for music streaming.

The IDC777 was created to simplify the integration of Bluetooth by incorporating the Bluetooth stack and profiles directly within the module, eliminating the need for complex integration. All of the Bluetooth Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy features and capabilities can be accessed via simple AT-commands which are well documented. The developer does not need to worry about the precise details of Bluetooth, or license details for the Bluetooth stack and CODEC. It is all incorporated in the easy-to-use IDC777 SW package which can be downloaded from the IOT747 website directly. The IDC777 integrates decades of Bluetooth expertise including the ability to run multiple high quality audio streams via Classic Bluetooth (Hands Free calls, A2DP audio streams) and Bluetooth Low Energy connections at the same time.
