High-Contrast, Colour VA Display
Easily Readable Displays Under Bright Conditions
In addition to TFT LCDs and standard and customised LC displays, YEEBO also offers PMVA displays. With PMVA technology, white letters or symbols/segments are displayed on a black background, making the displays easy to read even under very bright conditions.
Brilliant Colours and High Temperature Stability
PMVA (Passive Matrix Vertical Alignment) is a so-called negative technology for monochrome displays, with which brilliant colours can also be realised on the displays. Compared to TN displays, the viewing angle is larger and in some cases (depending on the driving) also the same in all directions.
The technology also offers high temperature stability. The background remains uniformly black over the entire range, which can be from -30°C to +80°C. The typical lifetime is over 100,000 hours. The displays are also easy to drive and offer a fast response time.
Due to the negative display, backlighting is inevitably required. Areas are equipped with different coloured LEDs to make symbols stand out in colour.
More freedom is achieved with a range of colour options applied by screen printing. The greatest flexibility for the designer is provided by the new colour film introduced by YEEBO. This multiplies the number of possible colours, and even colour gradients can be realised.
Features:
- Wide viewing angle
- High contrast
- Rich black background
- Fast response time
- Long life
- High reliability
- Wide temperature range
- Customised design
- Cost-effective
As PMVA technology is best suited for the display of individual symbols, mainly customised projects are realised. The development time amounts to 8-10 weeks. The costs for the series are competitive and comparable to xTN display modules.
The ideal application is in the automotive sector. But also in other cost-sensitive segments, such as smart home or white goods, where great value is placed on appearance and design, the technology offers undisputed advantages, not least due to the possibility of implementing colour.
